I wonder if the comments would differ if the news story had reported the fact that Mr. Mulligan did not have a valid license; that Mr. Mulligan was three times the legal limit for alcohol; that Mr. Mulligan had cocaine in his system; that Mr. Mulligan was ejected into the road by another motorist and his skull was fractured. All the above are facts. It is also a fact the JURY disagreed with the state's charge and voted to convict of a crime at essence a misdemeanor. Despite uninformed opinions from readers the Judge had the courage to follow the LAW. She should be celebrated for impartiality and courage. God bless the Mulligan's but the law is the law.
