Talk about political chutzpah

The real fight is over the Mahoning County Democratic Party's future. On one hand you have Mark Hanni, who admitted that he ran for Republican Chairman just to "get back at the democratic party" - sounds like a leader who we want as our chairman. On the other hand you have Chairman Betras who has re-energized the party and has worked hard to bring political enemies to sit at the table together and fight for our party, Sounds like an easy choice to me.

Is it back to the future for Mahoning Democrats?

Please, Chairman Betras has been nothing but honest and ethical. There are plenty of area officials, leaders and citizens who helped Marc Dann in his election and none of them, including Chairman Betras, are pleased with Marc Dann's actions. Maybe Chairman Betras can give some of you the legal ramifications on libel and slander.

Hanni sets his sights on Democratic Party’s top spot

"Hanni admitted he wanted to be Republican chairman to get back at that political party. Hanni said Republican leaders helped bankroll the Democrats for Change movement that took control of the Mahoning Democratic Party from his father, the late Don L. Hanni Jr., in the early 1990s."
This should send a message to all Precinct Committee members that Mark Hanni is only concerned about himself and really does not care about the party. David Betras on the other hand lives for the party. Easy vote.

"No, Betras isn’t in any danger of being ousted, not after the job he has done since he was elected party chair last April after Lisa Antonini resigned." I could not have said it better myself. David Betras has not only re-energized the Mahoning County Democratic Party, solidified ties to the Ohio Democratic Party, but has also been hard at work ensuring all endorsed candidates have everything they need to be re-elected. Chairman Betras has done more than an admirable job fund raising, bringing statewide candidates to town, and working with the precinct committee people to rebuild the party. The results speak for themselves, now it is time to re-elect David Betras and keep the party moving FORWARD.
