Dave, I'd be patient. Not siding with either party but I've seen kids make up all kinds of stories so they don't have to study music or, on a broader scale, participate in activities. Today, with the way kids learn, act, and behave, this kind of story would not surprise me. Sometimes what one thinks is an action without consequences turns out to be the worst thing they can ever do.
