DRS have spent 2.5 million dollars locally on datacenters. They have also put an additional 2.5 million dollars in facility upgrades.
DRS OWNS two buildings in Youngstown containing 20,000 sq ft of Data Center which nets out to be approx 14000 sq ft usable. The total SQ Ft for the buildings are 38,000 Sq Ft.
DRS also maintains many 200 SQFT leased Pops in Ytown, Columbus Pittsburgh and Akron.
DRS manages the fiber asset and Leetonia Technical Facility which does have colo available for the Columbiana Port Authority whom is working with Omnicity to bring wireless to the Columbiana County area. DRS took this over from BTI when they went under.
DRS also owns hundreds of miles of fiber connecting Government ,Hospitals, Schools and many businesses in NEO and Western PA.
DRS employs 60 hard working people most of which are local. Only about 12 are dedicated to the Data Center business unit.
DRS Data Centers are at about 55% capacity and filling up quickly.
I would have the company that did not get a call back, call the President of DRS. I am sure they are interested in new business.
Skepticism greets latest Traficant jobs plan
