I think your article is a fair, accurate, and honest take on what is currently happening and how we feel.
It takes a lot of guts to write this but you feel that the truth is the truth and can't be politically spun as some are doing. The local politicians are going to make us vote republican because we know what is happening here.
The whole thing is exactly a circus and if you work for the taxpayers then you have to abide by what we can afford not the want you demand.
Everyone that works for the taxpayer needs audited on what they make, including benefits, and actually do each day. Thats what happens in the private sector. This has gone on long enough behind the scenes.
This article should be a reality check for everyone and should be kept up on the site for weeks.
These employees sit around and look at each all day and never work more than 40 hrs a week even when they work.
If they had to work at private firms they wouldn't be able to do the work. They'd would get paid 60% of that salary and have deadlines and budgets to meet. They would have to work extra hours for free and if they didn't keep up get let go.
That is why all the county plans are done by consulting firms.
We work for whatever we can get and pay the taxes when buying gas for their easy jobs and they know it.
If it weren't the case they'd be working for private consultants but that would be too hard.
Being in jail for giving money to your daughter's campaign. I'm sure there are more people worthy of being in a cage then this guy. When I go out on the town I'm not looking over my shoulder worried about J.J.
Those apartments are study built brick buildings that look fine. What do they want free housing to look like?
I drive by MLK all the time and get a kick out of the housing authority mowing the lawn, cutting the grass, and raking leaves while people sit on the porches drinking beer watching them.
These type of policies along with Section 8 free home rental has driven all the decent people out of the city or to the outskirts of town.
PaulB has it correct. Rental houses have killed the city and caused eveyone to move out. Live in it Sell it or tear it down instead of providing a place for scum to keep growing.
If you work for a living and invest in a home, you care about the neighbor and what is effecting it. The entire South Side has turned into a big "ghetto" for low income people who have no ties or responsibilities to anything or anyone. They just move along to the next house.
Youngstown and other outlining communities should start passing laws now to discourage this or the scum will keep getting large and keep more absolutely horrible savage senseless acts like this from occuring.
White-to-black ratio nearly even in Youngstown
We keep moving away and they keep following us.
It's a shame driving through those old neighborhoods looking at how they maintain their holmes and raise their kids.
Rentals and Section 8 killed the city.

Gains, Marsico wrong in granting pay raises
Raises average over $14,000 each for 5 people.
Development and construction work in the area at record lows.
Public tax dollars being spent from people who are being asked to take pay cuts and pay more for benefits.
The whole thing is making a big smell that needs to be honestly looked into.
That is the legitament point here.
Turn the whole place inside out and publish the details. If it's warranted then so be it.
If it isn't then we have a problem.

Cafaro now jailed in Youngstown
The judge is Laurel and we all knew who Hardy is.
This thing is a total joke.
Being in jail for giving money to your daughter's campaign. I'm sure there are more people worthy of being in a cage then this guy. When I go out on the town I'm not looking over my shoulder worried about J.J.

Judge jails J.J. Cafaro
Going to jail for giving his daughter money for her election campaign?
This is a joke.
Doesn't make sense even if this guy has done other things in the past.
Where do you think she got the other millions she spent? The tooth ferry.
Leave them alone.

YSU presidents will have new home on campus
Cut out the allowance and make the new president buy his own house like everyone else.
There has to be someone in this area qualified for the job that wouldn't even need the allowance.
