I agree with eivo. All schools - including charter schools - are being measured by the same standards. Especially the OGTs, and all other standardized testing which Ohio ties to funding public schools. These are public schools. I cannot speak regarding ALL of them but Ohio Connections Academy is using the same books and curriculum that both local parochial school is using as well as the surrounding public schools we send our children to. BUT they don't have to hear and see the horrific things that go on in the public schools. Our children do not have to be bullied or intimidated. They don't have to be around druggies that use or sell. They don't have idiots coming around them telling them crap about sex and alcohol. They do not miss out on being around other kids that are "good" either. They meet and make friends at Church Youth Groups, Rec sports, etc. They actually learn better because there are no interruptions in the learning while a teacher has to be a disciplinarian, etc. I for one am happy that there is an alternative and think the public schools are more upset about losing those tax dollars than they are about the children.

I'm glad he is gone. He was a pompous a**. I wish they had done it 2 years ago when I had dealings with him as a coach.
