The youngest program in Boy Scouts is Cub Scouts ( grade school age). When's the last time you heard of a 6 to 11 year old boy knowing if he was gay or not?
Not sure who the woman in the photo published in the print edition is, but it isn't Michelle Stewart. Also, You identify the photo of the class president as "Amir Huggins," but refer to him in the article as "Amir Williams" - what is his name? This "fact checking" makes the National Inquirer look like the New York Times!
The real shame here is that the three voting for the proposal attempted to get under the $ 5K radar, after the Commission (properly) noted that the expenditure - at any level - was inappropriate.
$58K is not out of line for a master plumber, nor is $ 60 /hr. inappropriate for a qualified Treasurer. These are not the real issues in this story.
So who dropped the ball on telling the Commission about the treasurer deal???? This is the gang that wants to lead Liberty Schools to the promised land... the whole bunch needs to resign.
Buzz did not put in motion the demise of Forum Health - the protracted nurses strike and selling off of Beeghly Medical Park by the prior administration did that. Buzz, unfortunately, did not understand the dynamic of the corporate bond debt and the inevitability of selling the hospital. Likewise, i am not sure he completely understands the dynamics of the forces at play in county government, let alone party politics. The fix is in, Chairman Betras has assured that the party faithful vote will not be splintered ( by "inviting" the others to drop out of the race). If Buzz were fortunate enough to survive the primary, he would be in for a rude awakening as Commissioner.
Obermiyer is just the puppet - Kathy Carlile appears to be the one pulling the strings. Why has the Board/State not gone after her ( Tracy's) bond? Why was the Board so quick to settle the claims with LEAD and LEARN, especially without all the facts? Why was Carlile allowed to walk away with several hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of computer equipment? Why has the board yet to fill the vacancy created by Gloria Lang's resignation in September. Lots of questions - too few answers.
Thanks for pointing out this idiocy. My community had it Saturday 4 -6 ( thereby precluding us from attending the YSU game) and permitting all the starving urchins from neighboring communities to descend on us, since their communities had theirs on a later day ( thereby teaching our children how to double dip). Is it too much to ask that communities co-ordinate this, if in fact they are going to move Halloween, so that it is moved to the same time and Day?
Obermeiyer was failing to file proper reports for 16 months and nobody knew? C'mon. You want to tell me that the State did not contact the Supt. or Board about this long before now? Seems seven people were " asleep at the switch" - 2 Supts. ( Lucas and Watson) and the 5 Board members. This is an SB5 neutral issue - it would have had zero impact on this. Nunya and plak - stay on topic!
Betras is only the latest of a long line of embarrassments from the Mahoning Valley ( think Jimbo, Marc Dann, Jimmy Philomena, etc. etc). He wasn't able to deliver for the Dems last November and will similarly fail on the SB 5 campaign this fall. Apparently he did not even spell Munroe's name right in the press release and the letter. Why is the Vindy giving this noise maker any coverage. He absolutely feeds on it . Take away his sustenance -PLEASE!
