Oh yes; how quickly you all forget. We "had" money set aside for smoking cessation and tobacco prevention. Back in 2008, then Gov. Ted Strickland and some other lawmakers took all ( and I mean....ALL) that money. As I recall; Teddy took the money and said he was going to use it to create 72,000 jobs in Ohio. (you have one of those jobs don't you?)From the article, "Report: Ohio failing in tobacco control", written by Misti Crane; "Advocates who work to lower smoking rates have decried efforts in Ohio since 2008, when then-Gov. Ted Strickland and lawmakers took most of the state’s Tobacco Prevention Foundation money to use for other things'. So that is where that money went to and the Federal government is not footing the bill.

I am sorry to learn of the Avalon Gardens closing. I pray for some type of information regarding Mr. Donofrio, and that it comes to light for the sake of his family and workers. I know he had been fixing the place up and working on the bocci courts so everyone could have a good time there. What a shame.I always had a nice time there; dancing, eating and having a few drinks. Their Brier Hill pizza was fabulous.

How sad this place is closing. I used to love to stop there and have a root beer float whenever I was in the area. Friday was a cool day to stop because of all the old cars. It was a charming place and the owner was a very nice man.

What a talented man; escaping from back seat and driving away while cuffed.

This type of activity from CSB clearly shows how out of control the structure and core of this Trumbull County agency really is......time to clean house. This type of behavior should result in immediate dismissal of the guilty party. There very first responsibility should be of our children and families involved with this agency. This is the icing on the cake. Time for someone to clean the whole house. Perhaps David Engler will prosecute the guilty person or persons who wrote the threat. CSB has a very poor track record; shame on them all.

The state "Ohio Dept. of Corrections" failed to record and send in certain information....someone dropped the ball. So now we will have to wait. Like it or not.

This is one of the major reasons people in our area want more investigation regarding fracking in our area. I am referring to Allentown, PA and the statement, "residential wells were found to be tainted by a natural-gas drilling operation". We are also experiencing increased earthquake activity in YO. One reason could be that we have had an increase in rainfall this past year....just a thought.

As much as I enjoy you Stan; in this case I believe you are wrong. I will try and show you a few article links so that you can decide for yourself: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/02... . And: http://dontfrackwithny.com/are-fracki... . And this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04... . PA is not going to continue to allow fracked waters to be added to their rivers; now these companies want to dump it into Ohio rivers. NO Way. I have said it before; these are the new carpet-baggers of our time. Stan, do you really think that your natural gas costs are not going to rise because we let them dump their poison in our waters? Come on.

More elected officials doing a superb job. Wonder how many animals they have on video urinating in the reservoir? Naw, can't fine them.

This man is an animal and needs to be off the streets and in jail doing some serious time. Hope this case is followed closely by this paper and that someone in our courts will send him away.
