Ohio plans crackdown on emergency room prescribing

You aren't seeing the entire picture. Here is a scenario. Go to the ER with a fractured vertebrae and you deal with a Physician that acts like you are a drug addict and tries to send you home with a mild pain med and no testing. Why? Because back pain is one of the most common complaints a drug addict uses. You go to your primary care physician and he cant change your pain meds until the current improper prescription runs out because of the federal crack down.Testing that should have been done at the ER is done outpatient several days later. Both treatment and proper pain relief is delayed by several days. It has already arrived! They are tying the doctors hands and making actual patients suffer.

Ohio plans crackdown on emergency room prescribing

The problem is that this is NOT stopping the addicts from getting their hands on drugs! It is just making it very difficult for patients with genuine pain to get medication they need.

Nursing-home resident wanders away, found dead in parking lot

She was wrapped in blankets. It should have taken longer than 2 hours for hypothermia to set in, it isn't that cold outside at night anymore. I think someone missed her at bed check.

Only 45% of Americans 2 or older have had dental care in the last year

Welcome to republican lack of health insurance. I am not anti-republican, but what we have for health and dental insurance in the US is disgusting. What most companies offer for dental insurance does not pay for most procedures anyway. Proper health care and the ability to afford to pay for it should not be for only the wealthy.

Women worry about NY Medicaid contraceptive policy

Obviously NY would rather pay for the birth and health care for the next 18 years for their new babies. Unbelievable!

NY nurses in Kennedy beef: We were protecting baby

Hospital guidelines are not law and nurses need to realize that. Just like when they try to intimidate you into signing that you are leaving against medical advice. No one can force you to sign anything you don't want to sign.

A sixth tral is unusual, but necessary in Mahoning case

You can say "there is sufficient evidence for Anderson to be indicted, There was sufficient evidence to convince all 12 members of one jury that he should be convicted". But you could also say there was NOT enough evidence to convince all 12 members of another jury that he should be convicted. There can be no "reasonable doubt" in the mind of a "reasonable person" that the defendant is guilty. While I feel for this woman and her family, it is scary to think that you could be tried for the same crime over and over until they find a jury willing to convict you.

Trumbull doctors: Malpractice costs threatening health care

Lee, If medical care is the same across the board, why would doctors move? It is a scare tactic trying to get their insurance premiums to go down. You see the houses they live in, the cars they drive, etc. They are not starving.
