Corporations will shortly become our elected officials. Then government functions will be outsourced to China and India. You won't get any services. You won't even understand what they're saying. But they're so polite over there that you won't feel so bad.
Why be disingenuous? Congress postponed debate on substantive issues this week and that was all the way over in Washington DC. The event might have relevance if you had lost a loved one a week ago.
In the words of Tom Petty, "There goes the last DJ, who plays what he wants to play, who says what he wants to say." Radio is just one more thing corporate America ruined. As for Rush, he is on because nobody ever lost money underestimating the intelligence of the American public (HL Mencken).
The city has seen a rough 30 years. I offer congratulations to these two women who have performed a job I couldn't do for a week, let alone 30 years. And kudos to the Vindicator for leading with a local story that isn't gloom and doom.
America voted for change precisely because it was tired of losing jobs, homes, retirement savings, health insurance, sons and daughters over the past eight years. But I guess that was just a Pyrrhic loss.
