Taxpayers can’t afford new school

It seems to me neglect on whomever takes care of the maint. on fixing small problems before they get to big problems. I have two boys who live in Austintown and neither choose to send their kids to austintown. You have teachers who live in Austintown who don't send their kids to Austintown, I know this for a fact, does this tell you something about the school system?

Taxpayers can’t afford new school

I am retired and on a fixed income now, I am working part time to make ends meet. I pay $2100 a yr. property tax which is eating up any extra money I have. I live in Mineral Ridge, Austintown township. When I 1st moved here our little section of Austintown in Mineral Ridge wanted to be part of Weathersville, so the brains of Austintown let the whole community vote on it instead of only the people in our neighborhood, it got voted down not to my surprise. The school can do alot to cut back, Superintendent and a Asst. Superintendent? Principle and vice principle for every grade? On paper it looks good with state paying for almost half, but if you can't afford it you can't afford it. The tax payers are taxed out. The problem I see is alot of the kids are living in apartments or rental property's and their parents aren't paying crap. If you guys get the new school 5 yrs down the road another levy because you can't afford the upkeep. We are being taxed illegal to fund schools it is a proven fact sleeping in courts right now.

Austintown should not demolish ‘well constructed’ Fitch High

Here is my thought, when I need a new roof I don't tear my house down, I put on a new roof. As far as matching funds here is something to think about. If someone offers you a 5 million dollar mansion, you can't sell it, you have to live in it and can't rent it out for profit, you have to maintain it, you have to pay all taxes and insurance on it. Would you except it? No, because 90 % of us couldn't afford the upkeep. The same here they can't afford it, we can't afford it, but they want it!!!VOTE NO

I'm not buying why they canceled, I believe it was because of low ticket sales. Only my opinion.

Recent tale of two labor unions offers hope for the Valley’s future

Unions are getting scarce since the work force has grown with more females and they don't know any better. Just look around at all the foreign car owners, mostly female. I feel bad for our younger generation, prices are going up with wages going down. Walmarts love your female non-union mentality. Typical Republican response, they love having no middle class anymore.

Recent tale of two labor unions offers hope for the Valley’s future

Mr. union basher, where you worked at did you get benefits, pd. holidays, pd. vacations? If so you can thank a union man for fighting for these benefits. You need to read about Ford Motor plant when it 1st started up, they gave them no breaks, no lunch, and they had to work on grates with running water below so when they had to pee they just whipped it out and went there because it was all man workforce. I am willing to bet you are Republican too.

Mahoning sheriff, engineer make big changes

Ginnetti is doing a terrible job on snow removal, Mahoning County road department has always been the worst. The last big icey rd. day he said he had to wait for the police to call before they go out and salt. This is bullcrap. Western reserve Rd. was like a ice skating pond. I say get your butt out of bed and scope the area, its your job.

GM recalls 293,000 Cruzes for brake failure problem

Looks like a low life mentally commenting on the Cruz and the unions. If it wasn't for Lordstown we would be another Detroit The unions made this country and got you all the benefits you are getting such as vacations, paid holidays, working only 5 days a week not "mandatory" 7 days and benefits. The companys wouldn't of gave you crap without unions. Read a book about Ford Motor when they 1st started up, no breaks, no lunch, you had to pee you did it on the assembly line in a water grate below your work station. Its you foreign car buyers that make the chinese smile and prosper, Teach your kids and grandkids this "Thank you for shopping at Walmarts" making min. wage less than 40 hrs per week, in bad working conditions with your types of mentality. Move to china they are non union.
