Pavlik retires from boxing

Congratulations Kelly on a very wise decision.I am currently reading "The Good Son" and.It is great to see you get out early, like Boom Boom did, before you incur serious brain damage. You were a hell of a fighter and served this Valley well. Not many people become world champions.

Many who live in the Valley are proud of you as well as ex Y-Towners like myself.I wish you nothing but the best in your future and thanks for giving so much of yourself in the past.

Pavlik tops Lopez

Great win for Kelly and Y-Town! Takes a lot of resolve and toughness to do what Kelly is currently doing.Hope the rust continues to fall off and he is soon back in contention for a world championship.Even if that never happens wish Kelly and Youngstown nothing but the best in the future!

Kelly Pavlik vows to be a smarter fighter

Kelly ,it is good to hear the weight is under control and you are training in a low profile location. Both will serve you well.

You have been a bright light for the Youngstown area.Wishing you the very best in your next and future fights!!!!

Ron Wood debuts art at Butler

It seems every web site has it's Brown type poster.Folks who appear to be self absorbed ,negative and bottom line clueless.

Getting Ronnie Wood and his paintings to the Butler for his first American show is a real coup.

Saw some of his work at a gallery at St.Armands Circle in Florida and he is a very talented artist.

‘State of Youngstown’ is revived

YSU needs to prove they are again a power at the 1AA level before even thinking about moving to Division 1.

It is good thing YSU did not make the move years ago as it would have been a disaster.Marshall started out with a bang and has since struggled to be average at the Division 1 level.

Why not be a national powerhouse within your division rather than an average or weak team.See no pluses in moving up unless future teams prove they can consistently beat teams in the Mid American Conference.

Excited about Wolford and what he has done so far.He seems to get it.

Hope the Guins have a great year!!

Pavlik to take summer break

I left Y-Town many years ago but get back for visits every once in a while and it will always be home.

My memories of Youngstown include great down to earth, hard working people, outstanding ethnic food, beautiful women and one of the most gorgeous parks in the country.

It kills me how negative many of the posters are regarding Kelly and many other, seemingly positive developments and elements of my hometown.

Kelly has fought his heart out, represented Youngstown in a very classy manner and brought tons of positive pub to a city that many folks see as a paradise for losers.

Instead of embracing and supporting the guy's effort and terrific representation for the city and it's citizens many on this site revel in attempting to paint him in a negative light.

It is sad and offers some clear insights as to why Youngstown has floundered for so many years.
