Say something...

Yes most do carry an ID, they carry a state issued driver's license or ID card, this does not prove citizenship, and is irrelevant to the discussion. The point is that we are making one class of citizen have to carry additional forms of ID. If they had just written the law so that instead of asking only people who the police suspect are illegals, that the police had to ask every individual for their proof of citizenship the law would be fair. They chose to make the law subjective which opens it up to discrimination.

Another issue that tends to get overlooked and the reason why so many Arizona Police departments and law enforcement officers are against this law, is that is an illegal is witness to a crime they will now be afraid to come forward for fear of being deported. This will lead to more unsolved crimes due to lack of information that those witnesses would have otherwise given.

What makes the law heinous is that there is a clause that allows for people to turn law enforcement officials/agencies if they feel that agency is not following the law to the fullest extent possible.

So now the police have to enforce a vague law (what does an illegal look like, yet you can't use racial profiling) to the fullest extent for fear of getting in trouble.
