Thank you to the courageous woman who came forward. It's frightening and baffling to me that christian men and women have dismissed the allegations over the years. I went to the sentencing in support of this woman because I have a friend who was victimized by Dale Giffin. From what I understand, there are many. Had more people stepped up earlier, who knows how many victims might have been spared. "The law" kept much of the evidence of additional victims from being presented from what I can tell, making this case about so much more than one victim. In this day and age, we all know the statistics... sexual predators are repeat offenders. Thank you to the Bishop, and those who came forward. Complaints were filed against this man. How many more were victimized? And to those who stood by him while he committed crimes against children??? And women? I would have been sobbing in that courtroom. To those who were in the courtroom in support of Dale Giffin, and seemed to "celebrate" outside the courtroom afterwards, I can only imagine that the "gains" of your relationship with Dale Giffin have blinded you. To the judge who ordered 240 hours of community service. I thought I saw you choke on that statement as you processed exactly what you were saying out loud in front of everyone. And Dale Giffin...To say out loud in front of everyone that your life had been difficult this last year? And your reputation ruined?? He truly didn't get it, did he. Thank you again to this victim, for your SELFLESS pursuit of justice. You put yourself out there, knowing that your every action would be scrutinized. God bless you and thank you.
