YPD seeks motive in East Side double homicide

Way to go Vindicator. Just forget to mention directly in your coverage that this was a possible hate crime based on the victims' sexual-orientation.

Of course it's just fine to leave it to a random mention in the twelfth paragraph near the end of the article and then in a quote of a police source.

After all, we all know they were asking for it being such unsavory types sitting in a vehicle minding their own business living their lives hurting no one, but it's okay because they were a pair of 'them'.

Why would we even for a second consider granting any dignity to their lives by directly reporting that this could be a possible hate-crime motivated by the fact that the two victims were gay? We all know it's 'okay' to do pretty much anything to 'them' since they're not really human beings.

Oh, by the way. I will never buy another copy of your Sunday paper again.

Yeah, yellow journalism is still alive and well.

Boardman teens charged in break-ins

All the more reason to support our police by passing the levey on August 2nd. Congratulations to our police force in performing their duties well. Now let's hope the court system doesn't give these miscreants a pass.

Boardman clergy urge support for police levy at Sunday march

I have no problem with the local clergy who are very much part of the core of our community to ask those who's quality of life within the community are impacted by the problems it is facing to support our police force.

Every day Boardman becomes a less attractive place to live, and we can do something about this. Yes, money is tight for all of us, but the quality of our community is at stake and ignoring the burdgoening crime problem will only exacerabate it while those who prey upon others benefit from their crimes.

We are Boardman, and as a result we are responsible for what kind of place we call home, what kind of place we raise our families in, where we live our lives and ultimately what kind of community we create.

Crowd boos Aey for criticizing Betras

I'm fairly new to Youngstown, but I grew up in NYC/Northern New Jersey. It's pretty corrupt there too. I think it's pretty ridiculous to elect a lawyer with bad hair and a unibrow who's female business partner looks like a drag queen.

A life cut short - Sandra Scheuer

I was just shy of my sixth birthday and remember the images on the black and white television in our living room. My mama was crying uncontrollably the same way she did the days Dr. King and Senator Kennedy were assassinated two years before. I remember asking her what was wrong. She said 'Honey... this is all about Vietnam... these students don't want us to fight in Vietnam...' I then asked her with the innocence of a child 'Mama... when I grow up will I have to go to Vietnam too?'

What is the most important issue you want presidential candidates to focus on during their campaigns?

I think that while the current economy must be addressed that is best handled by the fed via rate cuts. I don't think a Democrat led stimulus package of unemployment benefits extensions and handouts is going to help the country.

We need tax cuts oriented at stimulating the business environment and some way of getting some money into the the economy via the consumer. This could be via a tax rebate to individuals.

I think that the most pressing issue that we need to deal with today economically is what is going to happen to Social Security. It is going to be out of money in less than 25 years and while that is stilla generation away, it will force today's kids to pay a huge penalty for the mismanagement of this important support system for the nation. We need to fix Social Security and at the same time provide some form of investment vehicle for people who want to save money in a safe non-volitale fund.
