Our country is in so much trouble that race really is not an issue. Yes, Obama's victory is a civil rights milestone, but his race has also served as a distraction from the real issues that neither party wants to address, e.g.:
The national debt Loss of our manufacturing base Loss of civil liberties (Patriot Act) Inflation of the money supply by Federal Reserve Open borders etc.
The layoffs are no surprise; the American Empire is coming to its close. Get used to living in a de-industrialized nation that is euphemistically called the "service economy."

As the economy continues to tank, we can expect more of this.
