CASTLO did not get that $700,000. CASTLO is only a member of the MRCO, which sits in Youngstown, Campbell and Struthers. The money went to Campbell to build the bridge across the river which is under construction now, which is actually situated in Campbell. It has nothing to do with CASTLO and is in fact across the street - not on CASTLO property.
There are only three employees at CASTLO and no one makes that kind of money there. LOL! I'd love to know where you are getting these "financials" from, especially since it is a private corporation.
CASTLO did not receive $700,000. Campbell received the money. CASTLO is a part of the MRCO, which also includes many other communities and economic development groups.
Although non-profit, CASTLO is and has been self-sufficient for many years, other than a few small grants for remediation. All rent collected is put right back into the park for future economic growth.
The entire 120 acres is not leased. Most of the 60 acres has been remediated , and all will be ready for construction as soon as the roadway and utilities go in.
That's thinking positively! CASTLO has viable prospects and cannot move forward with them unless these changes are made.
The reason it says "Youngs-town" on the web edition is because it is hyphenated on the print copy since the whole word could not fit on the same line each of those times. Not ridiculous.
