Welcome,

Ah spring! 'Tis the season when young (and old) drivers' fancy lightly turns to thoughts of ... potholes. Your daily commute to work or to the store or to drop the kids off at school is no longer a routine task. No, you must learn keen driving maneuvers worthy of champion race drivers. You dodge left to avoid one hole and, then, right to avoid the next. Oops, the one in the middle caused your head to bang off of the roof of your SUV, which suddenly doesn't seem that big or as easy to drive. You could — and probably do — curse these potholes. You wish you had a better outlet for your rage. Now you do. Welcome to the "Pothole Patrol" at Vindy.com. Let the world know of the worst potholes you encounter. Add them here for all to see. Hopefully, those helpful cold-patch and hot-patch workers will take notice.

Herbert road between Palmyra road(Ellsworth Twp.) and Turner road (Canfield Twp.),this road has numerous potholes espically on the Ellsworth end forcing cars to get one wheel of the road to miss some of the larger potholes. School buses have to slow down to 5 mph in many places.
Raccoon Rd between Rte 224 and Leffingwell Rd has gone to Potholes. We thought that it would have been repaired before the canfield fair last fall.
Lipkey rd in North Jackson is in the same shape again after they "paved" it last year. I don't know why they even bothered to try. All they did was throw patch right over the mess of old holes and they are all right back this year. Good use of taxpayer $ Mahoning county. Gibson is also showing through from last year as is Kirk both in Austintown and North Jackson. They should have to start paying people who live out here for all of the $ they spend on fixing blown out tires because they don't want to take the time or spend the $ to DO THE JOB RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!!!!!!!!! THANKS ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PRETTY MUCH ANY MAHONING COUNTY ROAD IS GOING TO BE IN BAD SHAPE SINCE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING AND CAN'T EVEN TELL WHEN A ROAD NEEDS TO BE TOTALLY RESURFACED (LIPKEY) AND WHEN IT ONLY NEEDS A HOLE FILLED. OH WELL WHATS THE DIFFERENCE AND WHY WOULD THEY NEED TO KNOW THAT. THEY'RE ONLY THE COUNTY ENGINEERS OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
South Turner road between Gibson & Kirk rd. appears as though someone has been testing missles on it. There would be more cold patch used than there is asphalt for a sorry piece of county road!
create jobs, fix the potholes
How about the strech on market street from about Philli. the whole way to midlothian
fixed potholes on new road between 46 & turner, but there are 2 giant potholes just west of turner!! why they didn't just continue for another 1/10 of a mile i don't know.
Market street from the downtown bridge until you hit Midlothian. This has been horrid for over a year!
Just take a drive down glenwood ave ... It's ONE BIG pot hole that is until it get's to the Youngstown/boardman boarder. Why is it a small town like boardman can keep it's roads better then ytown?
Why is it the focus of 2010 has been totally on the north side of Youngstown? Sure, the city is tearing down buildings and houses on the south side, but CCA is responsible for the green areas. With grant money just received from the federal goverment Boardman plans to fix South Ave, which is nowhere as bad as Market St. I guess no one in city hall drives on this road. They take 680!
Have you been on Mahoning Ave lately? Or Meridian Road North from Mahoning.
NO!
Buy a tank and try them.
There's not a street in Youngstown that does not need surfaced.
Now I wonder where all that city income tax money I pay out every year goes?
How about Mahoning, starting just past Meander Bridge, and up to N. Jackson? Many holes as deep as 8 inches.
I live on the sharonline of the east side and the potholes in front of my front door are so big, it's like driving in a maze on the whole street Cantwell and Dundee. Please have this street resurfaced, it has been YEARS since this was done. I pay a LOT of taxes in this area. Holds are like 8 inches if not bigger.
Here is a doosie...680. What the heck are you morons waiting for? Enough with the patching already. Just redo the whole damn highway. Do it once in concrete, you won't have to touch it for 25 years.
Quite a few well traveled disasters waiting to happen: Wilcox/Fairview are the absolute worst. We were told by County Engineers office it would be rebuilt last year. S Racoon, south of 224 = ridiculous for such an important road. Market Street between downtown and Midlothian = pathetic. Turner, New and Kirk = triangle of death. Lincoln and Lynn Rd (both near Calla) are mine fields.
We always get same excuse..."it is because of our bad winters around here". BS. if you didn't let roads go without repair for a decade, it would never get this bad. Or..."fuel prices are too high"...or..."we had to re-bid the project". Total BS. Get the job done Marsico - or we will get someone in office who will.
And to get a shot it on the private sector...why doesn't someone make Simon Properties and Cafaro Corp dip into their deep pockets to redo the Southern Park mall parking lot and the 5th street plaza lot? Seriously guys, you need a 4x4 to shop there!
Ellsworth rd between 224 and bailey. A complete war zone. The one hole before they patched it was.....4ftx3ftx6in....Its real fun when you blow out your ball joints and the county will not reimburse you for the repairs. They have said "Its your problem, Not ours" (They as in County Engineers)
Wirt street from MLK to Park Ave, by Arlington Gardens, do something it's a mess!
