What boon?

Let's not forget about the tens of jobs the casino is bringing us. Let the good times roll...

where is the job explosion that was to come. the jobs that have been filled are transient workers from out of state. something about this shale boom doesn't smell right.

I do not believe u people in Youngstown, my son got a job working in the fracking industry and is working 60 to 72 hours per week, making more money than he has ever made. Trouble is he went out and got it, while most of the low lifes in Youngstown are satisfied with sitting around and getting on the government tit. He had no experience in the oil or gas industry and gets very dirty eveyrday and works in the hot and cold. Go out and get a job u low lifes.

I think it is leveling off because of all the finds around the country.

boon

noun
1.
something to be thankful for; blessing; benefit.
2.
something that is asked; a favor sought.

boom

verb
1.
to make a deep, prolonged, resonant sound.
2.
to move with a resounding rush or great impetus.
3.
to progress, grow, or flourish vigorously, as a business or a city: Her business is booming since she enlarged the store.

Did we mean "boon" or "boom?" Given the context, you meant "boom." Spellcheck spells the wrong word correctly, too.

Yes, those bast%rds Halcon leased 140,000 acres up here, paid landowners millions, drilled 8 wells at $10 million a pop. And look at Hilcorp, spent $300 million in New MiddleTown, and is spending another $150 million for another cryogenics train, not to mention running 24" pipeline all the way up to Mercer county. Look at BP and Chevron with two new permits last month and Hilcorp took out six up there in Mercer county. It's all a con and the Vindy is letting us know that the bubble is bursting. The last one leaving Youngstown, shut off the lights.
