When one side wants to negotiate honestly and openly, and the other side is the administration, I think a strike isn't outside the realm of possibilities.
georgejeanie.....A YSU strike has zip to do with Tressel and never did. These contracts were set to run out way before Randy Dandy walked away from his own contract. Go back to your cave.
People who take pleasure in the difficulties of an institute of higher learning and the people who make such an institute run are generally uneducated themselves.
The problem is that any time this subject comes up, we immediately start hearing the deflections to turn attention away from the real problem. You hear about how much is spent on the football program, office renovations, administrative salaries, how high other Universities faculty salaries are, John Kasich, etc, etc, etc. The real problem is that the Faculty salary and benefit package is too high for the attendance YSU gets, and until the faculty recognizes that the problem will not go away.
