The tea party/gop, on the wrong side of history yet again - and you wonder why the vast majority of Americans not only don't agree with you, they don't like you very much either. You're all big proponents of the Constitution, yet you rage against equal treatement under the law for those Americans that are different from you. You know nothing of the Constitution. Nothing. You won't win these battles. People like you never do...just read your history.

I wonder when the vote tally will jump by 2,000 votes within 20 minutes against gay marriage again..

At one time marriage was a religious function, but after governments stepped in and recognized it as a union between 2 people, the legality of it became similar to a corporation. Once the papers are signed, submitted and recorded, it becomes a legal partnership, which can only be dissolved through another court action.

So, The Supreme Court being the top court of our land there can be only one decision. Now, many people feel this same sex marriage should not be legalized, but if you follow the law as the Supreme Court does, this should be a slam dunk.

Sorry. We are a country that must separate state and religion and in today's world the State wins, but that does not mean religion is dead or old fashioned. There are billions and billions of people who believe and so it will not go away and each religious sect will continue to follow their beliefs. Christianity follows the rule of a marriage being between one man and one woman. Other religions allow one man to have several wives, and some religions are now accepting same sex marriage. Because of our diverse population and disparities the state has to keep religion separate from the state to keep the peace.
