If you want to see how far some will take that political rhetoric just watch the video below of how Fox covered Obama's first 100 days. This has been their coverage 24/365 ever since. Fox, Limbaugh, Savage, Palin and the like pull the strings for the puppet masters and their audience of dupes fall for it.
Liberals invented it decades ago BS !!!!! Right wing hate is so far over the top he was not even in the race . KEEP UP All they preach is hate , hate ,hate If you can not see you must be blind . Beck is the leader
This was done by a sick person who has been that way for years long before the tea party or Sarah Palin. What should be looked at is the hero's in all this.
.... the guy was a whacko nut case. He should have been off the street and on meds long ago. Herr Obernut and his ilk are the post problem. There has always been heated rhetoric in the political arena. Glenn, Sarah and Rush are NOT the problem, merely commenting on the situation. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. This was a tragedy, let's not politicize it needlessly.
Think about this... If there had been someone there who had a concealed carry permit to carry a weapon, that little 9 year old girl may still be alive today.
It is shocking that someone could reload so many times before the public could stop him.
The police arrived just in time to do the paperwork.
VINDYAK, you're an idiot. Arizona ALLOWS concealed carry! And lots of people there have them! LOTS.
The fact is, when the surprise comes, even when you have a gun, people freeze up. Or they don't have a clear shot because other innocent people are in the way.
Fantasists like you, though, always imagine the perfect scenario in which you would save the day.
Go masturbate to the image of yourself as a hero now, Loser.
Like most, I do not believe that the Arizona tragedy was caused by political rhetoric. However, I do believe the vitriolic speech can create an environment in which it becomes more likely that such things could happen.
On a schooolyard playground, if you have two groups of bullies shouting at each other, it is far more likely that a fight will break out than it would be if the groups were discussing their differences calmly and reasonably.
Likewise with political rhetoric. Loud, vitriolic rhetoric only brings harm to both parties who choose to engage in it.
Reading over the posts on this board saddens me. Most of you seem like nothing more than playground bullies who thrive on hurling insults and pointing fingers at each other.
Is this truly what our forefathers envisioned when they founded this great country. Is this what our soldiers are dying for in Iraq and Afghanistan? Is this what your ancestors came here for?
This new dynamic in our political rhetoric does not bode well for the future of our country. Unless our politicians on both sides, our media outlets, our talk show entertainers, and even the posters on a local newspaper's comment board learn to air differences with respect and dignity, we have a bleak future as the greatest nation on earth.
For our kid's sake, please tone it down. Stop acting like playground bullies and more like Americans.
The only person that is responsible for this is the nut job that pulled the trigger. If any of you actually believe that Palin et all were responsible then you are as crazy as the shooter.
I'm not going to call all you liberals posting here any names as some of are doing. If I call names them I'm inciting. If you democrats call names it's because you're superior to the rest of us and must show it by calling us names i.e. teabaggers. I used to write opinions to the Vindy where you leave your name and town. My views were of the conservative and want to know how many threatening phone calls I received? That a car was egged in my mom's driveway. You guys have no idea how to win the battle of ideas,so keep up the heated rhetoric and then blame it on us conservatives.
to tigerlilly - I certainly know about Arizona's handgun law and I was making a point that it was too bad someone who had a permit was not there.
Now for the rest of your offensive language, I think everyone got your point ...and that is you are a moron and we all question how you were able to use a computer all by yourself. Possibly your mommy started up the system for you, or did your librarian? Anyway, thanks for the trash talk..you make Youngstown embarassed to admit you are here.
If Palin's Internet poster showing Giffords's district targeted with a bullseye wasn't inappropriate, why did she take it down immediately after the massacre in Tucson?
Anyone that watched 60 Minutes last night saw the guy planned this for years. He received a letter from this Congresswomen a few years ago and wrote DIE BITCH on the front of it. That was three years back.

His target was a politician.

While that sucks and is a significant amount of people, look at this:
3,304 babies are aborted every day
23,196 babies are aborted every week
100,516 babies are aborted every month
GREAT POINT
Hate and violence never solve anything!
