I personally don't think the YPD will put up with it. Especially if any of the Guardian Angels have concealed carry permits. Police as a rule do not like outside interferance in their jurisdictions.
Throw in a group that, as well intentioned as they may be, are in the eyes of the YPD, "civilians", well, I think they will have a harder time with the police than they will with the gangsters.
Nothing that will create paper, mind you. Just strongly worded "suggestions" that they please vacate, and leave the police work to the professionals.
the guardians are pitting themselves against bullies who don't care who they shoot or kill. i don't think their mere presence will do much to change that mentality. they can report criminial activity all they want but until the justice system gets these people off the streets and keeps them off for good, nothing will change.
I guess having the Guardian Angels out there can't hurt. They mean well and haven't been a negative influence elsewhere.
At least someone, other than the police, are doing something practical. I hope they consult with experts such as our resident expert-in-charge UnionForever before they head out there though.
Anyway, it'll be a whole lot more effective than having all the pray-ers get together every time something bad happens and ask the good lord to stop the violence. I've seen that happen countless times, and tragedies like the YSU shooting still happen. Oh well, I guess all the praying makes the pray-ers feel better, but I'd challenge anyone to point out a single instance where the prayin' actually made the violence go away.
Good luck Guardian Angels, and thanks for your efforts.
I read a letter in the Catholic Exponent signed by Ohio bishops to abolish the death penalty. I think these bishops live in a bubble with everything done for them. I can't see rehabilitating them when their minds are gone. I do agree hanging them on the square for all to see. Maybe Mr. Kasich would agree to this..
Sorry to be so cynical, but I think those red jackets and berets will simply be targets. I hope they can make a difference, but my fear is that they will become victims themselves. Our homegrown criminals don't think twice about pulling the trigger, damn the consequences. They should be wearing kevlar under those jackets.

These guys have been a help wherever they go and if your foolish enough to turn down the help then you deserve all the crime you get.
Guns versus Red Berets - the guns win everytime. I just hope none of them get killed by the hoodrats while patrolling the streets of Youngstown.

Any thing that helps . We need more then one thing to help out . Where is the tea party ? ??? Hiding under their rock with the other slime
As long as we have a bunch of attorneys that do nothing but plea bargain, nothing will change. Are you all enjoying your raises?
