This is simply a back-door rate increase. For the PUCO to say they didnt know that they were going to charge 21 dollars for a nine dollar bulb is hogwash. This is simply another example of our government officials of both parties (because I am sure the PUCO contains both) caving into a corporate interest rather then protecting the taxpayer. I LOVE MY COUNTRY, I DONT TRUST MY GOVERNMENT, EITHER PARTY!
"Media outlets" should be an additional choice from which to choose.
They should also add Al Gore to the mix

This is just another example of GOVERNMENT dictating that they have control. It has been clear by the outcry against this lightbulb debachery that those that have control have "NO" common sense values, but just make decisions to show they can do whatever they want and people are supposed to sit back and take it. Times are changing and people are getting sick and tired of being controlled by bureaucrats that care less about the people and ONLY LOOK FOR THEIR OWN INTERESTS. What about last years energy bill that allows big business to have their electrical bills lowered and the other customers of First energy have to pay a higher price to help this business. example V&M.
We all had a .25 / kw added to our bills to help keep their business electrical bill lower. ever think:
this is not an American company,, the profits go to France,,,V&M are only working 2 days / week because of the ECONOMIC slow down, has our electrical rates decreased because they are not using as much electricity.I THINK NOT... why does the government insist on helping a French company, when there is competition that have to pay full price for their electrical usage. What happened to just adding more fees onto the product and cover the cost of doing business,"IT IS TIME TO STAND UP AND TELL OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS,, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, YOU NO LONGER REPRESENT THE PEOPLE AND THROW THEM OUT OF OFFICE AND ATTEMPT TO GET NEW AND CARING REPRESENTATIVES, "NOT THE FOLLOW THE LEADER ONES IN THERE NOW!"

I voted for First Energy, but I blame all three of the choices.
I voted for PUCO since it is their job to represent us and they obviously sold out.

The PUCO rubber-stamps any and every rate increase any utility wants, but this is inexcusable, even for them. How do we get those bums replaced? Who do we talk to?
If you think this light bulb is a shame. Wait till they pass cap and trade. Who is to blame for the light bulbs all of the above and then some. At least on cap and trade you can vote those people out of office.
I voted 1st energy...nice try...and yes the puppet(PUCO) and the puppet master (1st E) at work.
First Energy is a monopoly.... they have no customer service mentality. You connot drive to the office and speak with anyone to address a bill directly. They hid behind no service department available to the public. They are heavy handed and arbitrary. If this was as real business without PUCO intervention they would die an immeadiate death!
i blame all of them. No one did their jobs and they lamsot got away with pulling a fast one on us. First Eenrgy came up with this crazy plan. If they would have done what other power companies did this would not havee happened. They can't say they did not know the other power companies gave out coupons.
i will buy my own corkscrew lightbulb when my other lightbulbs burn out and pay a normal price for it , not the overpriced government $. just like anything else that is bought by the gov., ex: toilet seat $129.00, hammer: $89.00, just go to the list of what they pay for everyday items..........maybe they should try going to home depot or wal-mart, they will get more for their dollar!!!!!!!!!
