Is your holiday charitable giving more, the same, or less than last year?

Obama's proposal to reduce tax deductions that donors receive for charitable contributions, and passed by the Democratic-Socialist congress as part of the 2010 budget, will have a negative impact on those dependent upon charitable giving.

It is essentially income redistribution from charities (soup kitchens, hospitals, etc.) to the Federal government.

It keeps the impoverished even more dependent on the Federal government, rather than their fellow American.

Anyone seeing a pattern here?

The Quaalude,

I was advocating for charities such as soup kitchens, hospitals, free medical clinics, etc. It's not nice for the Federal government to take their funding. Got it?

You make assumptions about my charitable giving. You know what they say about assumptions?

Attached is a Washington Post article in which charities describe how badly they will be hurt by the actions of the Democratic-Socialist Party. The figure cited in theis article is a drop in funding of $3.87 billion to these charities.

Real compassionate, eh?

The only reason I am not giving anymore than ussually do is because I was out of work for a year and that put me in a bind that I am still digging out of.

I have been blessed and have been able to keep my job. Therefore I will contribute more to help my fellow man. Does this make me a socialist? No It makes me a Christian.Bless those who are less fortunate than myself. It is amazing that the so called party of God forgets the most basic premise of Christianity.

You are correct, both the Democratic-Socialists and the Democrat-Lite (GOP) have caused massive injury to America. Each American's share of the national debt is $39,368.90. They may have already pushed things beyond the point of no return. Somehow, they still have their admirers.

The facts and the truth are on the side of those who love liberty.

Trust me, voluntary charity and hard work do not make you a socialist. Quite the contrary. Those are virtues of which you should be proud.

Socialism is, "ownership and control of the means of production and distribution." Some examples could include a government takeover of car manufacturers, mortgage companies, banks, health care, etc.

Merry Christmas. All the best to you.

I thought this was about charity. Leave the politics out of it. We have many people hurting out there and I for one donate and do not need a tax break or a pat on the back. It is the right thing to do to help our fellow man . Christians do not go out and assasinate others character based on heresay. That is equivalent to murder. We all must pull together no matter what party, religion, race, social or financial status

If we choose to discus this in this forum then lets tell the whole truth not just the party line from the left or the right. To blame this whole financial crisis only on the politicians is naive to say the least.
There is plenty to go around lets start with the politicians that passed laws allowing less than qualified borrowers to recieve loans.
Next lets go to the fat cats on wall street that took all of these risky loans and packaged them in instruments with good loans to avoid paying higher interest rates which also made the books look better so the short term performance allowed them to collect fat bonuses.
Next lets go to the so called free marketists that believe the only way for a system to work is a total lack of regulation. When in all reality there has never been a free market. The only thing free about a free market is the ability of large financial and investment institutions to control the markets that are free of regulations to keep people honest.
On to the voters that blame everything on those we elect. We talk and support term limits all the while repeatedly voting for the same candidates or the straight party line.
You have the Reaganites who think he brought and end to communism when he brought down the wall, In reality he cut the deal that started this socialist movement we are in the midst of and Oh yeah he also gave us Osama Bin Laden
You have the Bushes, Papa that gave us Sadadam Hussein when he was the head of the CIA and Junior that moved this counry more to ward socialism in one single act than all other administrations combined ( The (Patriot Act) all while refusing to close our southern borders which was a keystone to securing our country by the 9-11 commission.
Next Clinton what else but signing nafta and promoting free trade started by Bush sucking the middle class jobs out of our country.
Now we have Pelosi and Reid yes Obama is powerless.
If you have not figured out a pattern here it is because it is simple. I like many of my fellow middle class christians are a dying breed. There is not a party that represents my fiscal conservativism and my social activism.
You asked for it and you got it.
Good luck God Bless and Merry Christmas
Those of you that have!!! find someone to share your blessings with.
