What a waste when he said tax cuts I thought it would be a big difference, I'm bringing home and extra 17 bucks every two weeks, he can keep it!

Neither of those, but I'd gladly keep all of my Federal, State, and Local taxes for an entire year. Now, that would be a real economic boost for hard working Americans. Those of us that go to work every day; and make this country great, would get to kick-start this economy by keeping every cent of what we earned for 2009.

A $10 a week bump in our paychecks gets put directly into the economy and offers a chance at consistent growth. A one-time stimulus check is often treated as either "found money" and used to splurge on a large item once or pay off a larger debt.

Take the one time check before Obami decides that giving the money to working people is not right. There be po people on the dole that be needing that money!

Thanks to Bush's failed policies, now most working Americans ARE the "po people". President ObamA has the difficult job of cleaning up the enormous mess left behind by the disaster known as W.
Republicans' numbers are dwindling but they'll still try to screw the working class and our nation for the chance to gain a little power (only to abuse it once again) ...

vindyreaderiam!!! How stupid can you be, the bulk of the jobs Obami would create would be government jobs. And as stated most of the people on the government dole will vote democrat. Now the messiah will claim that there will be lots of private sector but you and I both know that is BS. Good luck to you and the rest of the sheeples in the valley!!

Looks like most Americans period are voting Democrat -- good for them and us!
How stupid could I be? Well, anything is possible so I could be as stupid as the braindead Bush followers were or as stupid as the people who spend their days thinking up childish names for our President in a lame (and failed) attempt to seem clever ... but thankfully I'm not.
Great paying construction jobs -- especially great paying for union workers -- will be created. About time.
And yes, after the incompetence of the previous eight years (when the size of government grew to unprecedented levels and job creation per year was an embarrassment) President Obama might look like a savior but to realistic, intelligent people (ie: those who voted for him) he simply represents the change we needed -- a competent leader willing to rebuild our nation to what it was pre-W.

Well, lets see how the "the neighborhood organizer" as he referred to himself years ago does. He certainly has shmoozed a bunch of people, especially in the valley. Of course that was easy!

Better to be shmoozed by an intelligent man than shmoozed by the idiot W.

Oh yes, he is smart alright. He told you what you wanted to hear. If I remember correctly he stated for example:

1) Everyone in his administration would be vetted more stringently than ever before.

2) No one who has been involved in lobbying would work in his administration.

To use a popular expression nowadays "how is that working out"

I will give him credit where credit is due. Because of him, over $100K in back taxes have been collected. Course that is just from his cabinet appointees. Geitner actually wrote off his kids summer camp as a business expense since if they did not go to camp he would of had to pay for a nanny. Would of gotten away with it the Messiah had not selected him for the treasury job.

I may not pay my taxes this year. That should give me the inside track on a cabinet position.

The funny thing is that so many of you around here automatically assume that if a person is not daisy chained on Obami that they are automatically a GW fan. Guess what, there are actually people in this world such as I that are registered as independents. We vote for a candidate, not strictly along party lines. Was I a GW fan? When we went in Afghanistan, by all means. When he didn't finish the job in Afghanistan and went into Iraq, hell no!

Even though the Fannie May and Freddie Mac fiasco is the fault of the democrats, the repubs will be blamed for years by the sheeples.

why cant we get lump sums like all of these big companys. if every tax payer who worked the last 5 straight years would get lets say $130,000.00 then we would be able to invest, and buy and maby even pay off a morgage. and that ther would stimulate the econemy again.

Personally I think ,with the way the economy is today, thanks to former President Busch whom I didn't vote for ten dollars may seem to be a lot for some struggling families right now.I think it is a shame that we are the richest Country in the nation and this is all the Gov't can do to help it's people.we have no jobs, health care,go to work everyday, and now have to decide to pay a bill,or buy my prescriptions,or groceries.people lost homes! come on now.

Why couldn't the plan be to help pay people mortages to keep them in their homes, and keep families together.why pay the banks<there still in trouble,at least the people could have gotten their homes back, and the banks would still make money.Where is all the money?Busch gave everybody 300.00 ,he got that right back, because gas was so high middle class had to use it to keep gas to get to work. I overheard people with good jobs stating how they were going on vacation wuth the money they received.that was nice! hope they had a nice time. The Gov't owes me nothing, i am truly blessed,I have a job i struggle but I stand on God not the Gov't.It wouldn't hurt to give a little to boost the economy, something someone could work with, the elderly, kid programs.everyone should have received a check to purchase a t.v since they want to change how we look at t.v but what they give a coupon, thanks.for this to be America,i don't know it's pretty darn, scary we are talking about peoples lives and livelyhood, senior citizens that paved a way,and for what to be disrespected like this.God Bless us All.

Lady41: Stop with the Bush-isms.

Fact: You need to read up on the CRA - Community Reinvestment Act of 1977. It was authored by Democrats and Barry Obama was involved. The government used it to force banks to make risky loans. Barry Obama was one of the Attorneys that brought suits against the banks that didn't want to fill their portfolios with 'high risk' loans.

Fact: Private investment speculators bought up the surpluses of oil and sat on them to artificially drive up the price of oil, thereby driving up the price of gas.

Fact: Bush doesn't own any oil investments and gained nothing from high priced gasoline.

Fact: Bush hasn't been controlling congress or the Senate since the beginning of 2007 when they took over the majority. The Democrats have, and are the ones responsible for pushing through most of the legislation we are being hit with.

Fact: Obama signed the 1.5 Trillion porkulus package without reading it, knowing that there were absolutely no oversight on the money.

Fact: Obama signed the 3.5 Trillion prokulus package, almost none of which will hit the economy.

Fact: Most of the first 1.5 Trillion tax payer dollars went out the door, to pay off foreign investors. The rest was spent by private corporations to buy up competitors or things like the Chicago parking system. Which by the way, the company immediately raised parking fees in and around Chicago by over 300%, burdening Chicagoians even more.

Fact: Obama's people threatened investment companies that the White House press corps would ruin their companies if they didn't settle for .30 cents on the dollar for Chrysler's stock. Obama needs them to sell out so he can have Fiat take over majority share control. Many investment companies that people bought into for retirement, hold Chrysler's stock. Taking .30 cents on the dollar would devestate their investments and retirements, leaving them broke.

I could go on, but I'm tired of typing.

Check your facts, then come back and appologize.

....oh yeah. I forgot.

This is NOT a stimulus. For those who do not know, the money is coming from an adjustment to the whitholding tables.

You will get a little more in your check, but end up paying more at the end of the year in witholding tax.

It is a deceptive manipulation of numbers. That is all. Pay less now, pay more later scheme.

CHECK YOUR FACTS for crying out loud!
