Who cares what you call it. At least its professional in some way, shape, or form. If I want to see my fellow classmates from high school play hockey, I'll go check them out at the Ice Zone, not a $45 million dollar facility.
I will not support junior hockey at the Chevrolet Centre. It is that simple. My money will go elsewhere.
Hockey as a game and sport should be supported and nurtured no matter what the business buffoons of youngstown do to ruin it. The lower ranks are the same sport and the game is played almost the same (ruleswise) throughout all leagues. Kids who are interested in the game should be shown that no matter what level you play at, it is still a beautiful sport and should be respected as such. That said, I think that since Mr. Zoldan has brought up a minor team in Boardman to play at a very respectable level, that he may have the chops to actually bring a team here that will stay longer than the Steelhounds. I think that instead of focusing on the level of hockey brought to the area, people on these message boards should focus on the level of mismanagement that put the area in a no hockey situation in the first place. Don't be bitter and disrespect the sport because a local businessman gave you a taste and took it away. Hockey on any level is better than no hockey at all. This can be avoided in the future by letting someone with experience and knowledge of the game bring a team in and build.
This would be Mr. Zoldan's third attempt at junior hockey in the valley after two previously failed attempts. The Phantom Rockets of the CEHL lasted only a couple years before leaving (failure number 1). He himself has stated that, with or without a USHL franchise, the Phantoms are gone this year after only six seasons (failure number 2). Why does he get a pass?
I love hockey, and want it back at the Chev! Semi-Pro or Pro is fine with me! As for the comment about Canadians, that was very rude and ignorant! I am sure you watch plenty of other sports who pay tons more money to man from other counrties to play! Hockey is exciting and the fights are awesome! Bring GOOD hockey back!
How many were really there if the official box score from Friday, April 24, 2009 (arguably the biggest game of the year) reads "ATTENDANCE: 650"? What does it take to understand that we don't want to see junior hockey in a AA arena?

I definitely care if hockey returns to the Chevrolet Centre. Well let me rephrase: I only care if 'professional' hockey returns, not 'junior hockey.'
Too bad we never had 'professional' hockey, we had 'semi-professional' hockey. Get your facts straight!!
AP semi pro is considered professional. Do you play? However, I don't care to see junior hockey
