Mayor Williams wanted them fired read the article, for some one who thinks the city is beneath him and wants nothing to do with it, you sure put alot of interests in the city issues.

I've lived in Youngstown most of my 45 years and except for a couple of officers, I have alot of respect for YPD officers,
Youngstown police do the job in the city and are in a high crime area almost all the time.Kudo's to the YPD, you have my upmost respect for the job you do!! Unlike the Gestapo Boardman PD who disregard our civil right's and target you if they think your from Youngstown and might be poor.Stay in Boardman where you belong.

Why should they NOT be fired? Where else can you work and not get fired for leaving early without covering your shift? I'm a nurse- what if I did that? I think it's stupid that we're even discussing whether they should be fired! Get them the hell out of here!

Anyone else would be fired for elaving their job. Imagige if everyoe left work early nothing would get done. By not fiirng them it tells them they will not get puinsihed much if they do it wich sends a wrong message I feel.

There is no doubt that this is a termination offence. Where I worked, this was called job abandoment.

What if a fire broke out? The shift supervisor must account for all employees to see that they get out of danger safely. Joe and Bill left the area without telling anyone. Well, guess what, a fire fighter has to enter a burning building on a rescue attempt to find Joe and Bill. Fire fighter dies trying to rescue 2 missing employees. Yes, terminate the employment of these people that walked off the job without permission.

It was job abandenment and they should be fired. Anywhere else you would be fired for such an act. Too many people are out of work for anyone to be so foolish as to leave their post.

Plain and simple, if you brake the rules of your employer, you get fired. If it was you or me, that is what would happen. I lived in Youngstown for a few years, and I sure am glad I moved out when I did. The Youngstown Police force is a joke! I can name many instances where they were asleep on the job. I had called and told them of a crack house down the street from me on numerous occasions and they flat out told me there was nothing they could do. I caught a kid stealing from my car and had to wait over 4 hours for them to show up, and when they did, they acted like it was a murder. 3 cop cars and 5 officers for one 14 year old kid. Then they asked me why the kid wasn't bloody. They were implying that I should have hit the kid. But, if you park your car with one tire on the sidewalk, watch out 'cause you'll get a ticket!
