| Reasons for running | As a parent, teacher, political organizer, and civically active community member, Sheila Calko is committed to providing fresh energy, accessibility and service to the constituents of Ohio’s 64th District.
For the past few years, our state has experienced some of the most difficult times we have ever seen. Sheila Calko is dedicated to working with Ohioans to develop smart solutions to the difficult challenges of our time and build a bright future for our community. After taking several education policy classes in graduate school at Columbia University while simultaneously teaching in the largest school district in the country, Sheila became inspired to become even more politically involved. Sheila's experience in the classroom as a teacher and union representative along with her education have prepared her to be an effective education policy maker. As a former teacher and wife of a union steelworker, Sheila worked hard against anti-collective bargaining Senate Bill 5. She wants to ensure that the rights of working Ohioans are protected. |
