|Education||Austintown Fitch High School class of 2006 Current electrical engineering student at Kent State|
IBEW Local 64
|Reasons for running||I am running for Austintown School Board because I love my community and I have the energy and enthusiasm to affect positive change.|
|Priorities||My first priority in office is increasing community involvement through more board transparency and more dialogue with the community. This will be a major theme throughout my tenure as Austintown Board of Education member. Other issues which I will champion include, most prominently, transportation safety, school performance and executive direction of our district.|
|Qualifications||As job site foreman I lead a group of journeymen and their apprentices in successfully completing many multimillion dollar construction projects. During these projects I learned to manage resources effectively and bring together many diverse backgrounds and skills to always work within tight budgets, timeframes and demanding quality controls.
My tenure on the IBEW Local 64 Apprenticeship Committee provides me a directly transferable skill set which I will apply to the Austintown School Board. I was appointed by the IBEW Local 64 because they recognized in me strong executive level leadership skills combined with a passion for providing a strong education for our future journeymen.
Unlike most candidates running for Austintown School Board, I am a product of Austintown’s current educational environment not its past. While some candidates possess pedagogical knowledge and have some administrative experience I have a very direct connection to the policies currently enacted in Austintown.
|Positions on the issues||All the issues facing Austintown local schools are relevant and I want to not only be a representative of the community but help keep them informed of all issues within their district. Austintown is great and I will work tirelessly to keep education its bedrock of success.|
