| Reasons for running | I will bring a fresh way of thinking and new ideas to the way the county operates and will be the most aggressive salesman Mahoning County has ever seen in order to attract new business and industry.
My experience in Chicago and Washington, DC showed me how big things can be accomplished in government and I want to bring that experience to Mahoning County. |
| Priorities | Priority 1. Get the Sheriff’s office fully funded and hire back the laid off deputies and open the two pods of the jail that are now closed. We must look for every opportunity to generate revenue to open the jail. Our county must be safe for our families, and an unsafe county can’t attract new business.
Priority 2. I will be the most aggressive salesman Mahoning County has ever seen in order to attract new business, industry and jobs. There are opportunities to move Mahoning County forward all around us and when I’m in the commissioner’s office I’m going to make decisions that are good for everyone, not just a select few. Priority 3. Bring some common sense to Mahoning County government. After having sat in on the Commissioner staff meetings and listen to how the county currently conducts business, there’s no doubt it’s time for a new way of thinking and doing business. |
| Qualifications | I am a citizen of Mahoning County, small business owner, former private sector employee, former state employee and former union member.
I’ve had the great honor of working for two Presidents (Clinton and Bush) in the White House and I had the opportunity to do work for many agencies of the federal government, and state and local governments. I have also worked with Fortune 500 companies and national non-profits. I worked with the County Commissioners of Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull Counties when I was leading the effort to bring major motion pictures to our area for economic development. I have helped many of our current and former office holders get elected. I have also work on three national campaigns for President, and many statewide campaigns around the country. |
| Positions on the issues | The most relevant issue is the Sheriff's office and jail. We must permanently solve this problem. |
