Reasons for runningI am running for Congress because I am tired of flipping a coin in the voting booth. I’m tired of choosing between the lesser of two evils. The two parties do not represent the people; they represent those who give them the most money. I want to give the voters of the 6th District a legitimate alternative to the corrupted power structure in Washington, D.C. Each of the two parties has consistently made our country’s problems and deficit worse. I believe it is time to get out of that old rut and really try something different for a change.
PrioritiesI believe 90 percent of any representative’s job description is to be available to his constituents; to listen to their concerns and act in their best interest. This is the absolute top priority for me.
The remaining 10 percent of the job has to do with the procedural functions; roll calls, floor speeches and voting on issues among them.
The first issue voted on by the next Congress must be a complete repeal of Obamacare. Accept no substitutes. If there should be a second issue for the next Congress, I would like to introduce or co-sponsor and pass the "One Issue at a Time Act" to force Congress to represent each issue individually on its own merit. The third issue I want to see passed is a complete and thorough audit of the FED.
QualificationsI have always been both a problem solver and natural leader. I have been a manager of resources and people, and I have never been afraid of getting my hands dirty doing the actual work required. I am skilled in the art of efficiency. I know how to streamline rules and procedures to maintain quality while achieving affordability, cutting out the excess along the way, even when it has meant cutting out my own position in the process.
Positions on the issuesObamacare - There should be no other piece of legislation voted on or passed until a full repeal has occurred. Any candidate who suggests that defunding the bill is an acceptable substitute should not be elected. Defunding will only create a $1.3 trillion unfunded mandate where taxes, fees and fines will still be collected. Anyone willing to accept this as an alternative may as well leave the program alone. Defunding will only allow Congress to collect money to spend on other needless programs. If the president vetoes the repeal, then it should be voted on again and sent back. This president needs to know that no other legislation will move through the house until the repeal is realized. The people need a legislature which will have the spine to stand up and make the repeal a reality.
I completely support the "One Issue at a Time Act" to force Congress to present for a vote each issue individually on its own merit.
I firmly support a complete and thorough audit of the Federal Reserve. The American people have a right and a need to know the full extent to which the FED has manipulated our current economy. This is the necessary first step in returning the control of our economy to the Congress and the Department of the Treasury. The audit must be done first so that we will all know the true condition of our resources and currency manipulation.
