Reasons for runningRestore the confidence the public once had in the Austintown Board of Education.

Provide an open door policy for all taxpayers. I WILL be accessible and approachable.

Priorities Ensuring the safety of transporting our children to and from school is paramount.

I will listen to parents concerns regarding all related busing issues and address those issues in an expedited manner.

Work to bridge the gap in communication between school board members and parents. I WILL be accessible and approachable.

Ensure our children are provided with the best education possible and ensure we provide each child with all the necessary materials (in ex. books, computers, etc.) to succeed.

Re-evaluate open enrollment and the effects it has had on our school system and community.

Organize focus groups and actually listen to the committee's input.

Positions on the issues Opposed to Austintown moving in the direction of an Academy School.

As a Board, we need to put pressure on our legislators to create a better balance on funding between public and charter schools.

Our central office needs to be more open and sensitive to the community's needs.

Discontinue the services of the Toledo Marketing firm, Wixey Network, which cost the school district $35,000.00. We should not be sending our tax dollars to an outside marketing firm when we need jobs HERE!

Expedite and resolve the ownership issue of the old AMS/Fitch building on Mahoning Avenue.

Offices Held Served on the Austintown Board of Education from 1987 through 2003 serving as Vice President in 1992 and 1996 and President in 1993 and 1997.

Was active in the PTA and is a tireless worker when it involves youth. Served on the Strategic Planning committee for the Austintown Schools. I was always accessible to anyone in the School District or Township.

Have been a member of the Optimist Club since 1971 and has served as Youth Chairman.

Have been an OHSAA Track Official for 40 years and has served as Referee or Clerk at the district level for 28 years. Served on the game's committee and head clerk at the Regional level for 17 years. Have been the O.H.S.A.A. Region I meet director for the track & field Regional at Austintown Fitch.

Worked with the Special Olympics and the Junior Olympics.

Served as the Lake Erie AAU and Junior Olympic cross-country chairman.

Director of the states largest cross country league, the 40 team Suburban Cross Country League that includes four counties, Ashtabula, Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana from 1996-2006

Meet director of the Optimist Meet for 20 years. This meet has raised over $140.000 dollars for the Fitch Athletic Department over the last 33 years and has helped booster clubs. This meet is the largest coed one-day meet in Ohio with around 2,800 athletes and 90 teams.

Served as president of the Greater Youngstown Track Officials Association in 1993-94 and 2002-03 and 2007-2009.

Organized the Falcon 5K run on the Fourth of July weekend that gave a track scholarship to one Boy and Girl each year for 24 years. Also, Announcer for the Boardman Invitational cross country meet and the O.H.S.A.A. State Regional Meet. Helped with the March of Dimes and St. Jude’s. Served as precinct committee person in Austintown and is an alternate on the Zoning Board.

Helps the Athletic Department at Fitch High School in all athletic activities and also serves as Media Coordinator for major athletic events.

Organized the huge Sunday car cruise and Patriots Day Military event in September that honors Military Veterans and Safety forces. Member of the Tri-State Marines (494) since 2008 and is active with Toys for Tots and was the Treasurer for the Fire Levy in 2012
