Reasons for runningHaving lived in Canfield Township my whole life, I understand our community's core values and expectations for this position. The people of Canfield Township deserve better leadership. It is the best township in the area and deserves the best services and leaders from the top down. When I saw the lack of leadership and vision in my hometown while attending trustee meetings, I could not stand by anymore. I will bring the needed work ethic, character, knowledge and passion to the township.
Priorities Township Website: To better inform residents about what is going on in the township, contact information, calendar of events, future plans and a place to write comments or concerns to be addressed.

Attending Mahoning County Commissioner Meetings: Learn more about available grants for the township and residents to use to be more competitive in our grant applications.

Water and Sewer Development: Work with the Mahoning County Sanitary Engineer when applying for water and sewer grants. Have a water tower built to meet our resident and business needs along 224. Alleviate flooding problems in the township.

Resident Concerns: Listen and address resident issues. Use common sense to solve problems and enhance the quality of life in the township and remove any blight.

Township Park: Complete improvements to the park and fence in the retention pond which is a hazard to children and residents.

Regional Collaboration: Work together with other townships and cities on joint projects to save money for our taxpayers and township resources. Work more with the city of Canfield on maintenance projects.

Stop Wasteful Spending: I will not waste any money on unnecessary signs. Make sure we do not go over our budget.
QualificationsMy passion for economic development, community revitalization and helping the less fortunate led me to create OH I Love. I know how to build strong neighborhood relationships, resolve conflicts, educate students and effectively lead diverse groups. My strength lies in my ability to critically think outside-the-box and develop concrete solutions. With a resilient, rustbelt character, I will continue my effort to improve the quality of life in Canfield Township as well as the Mahoning Valley.

Character/Work Ethic
I have volunteered with the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation and helped its efforts in turning around Youngstown neighborhoods. I gave 15 hours a week for the past six months to that cause. It was a large investment of time, effort and dedication to improve the lives of the people in Youngstown. The residents of Canfield Township can rely on my character and work ethic if I am elected. I have extensive experience dealing with residents and addressing their concerns. With my consulting experience, I have conducted environmental, corridor and neighborhood research studies. It’s time we have someone with this knowledge and develop a comprehensive plan for the future of Canfield Township.

I am the only candidate who was born and raised in Canfield. I went Canfield High School. After graduating from Canfield, I attended Youngstown State University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master of Arts degree in History. I was invited to attend the Mahoning Valley Government Leadership Academy facilitated by the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce in Spring 2012. To continue and improve my education, I enrolled in an online class provided by Case Western Reserve University dealing with Inspiring Leadership through Emotional Intelligence in Spring 2013. I am always constantly trying to learn new things and expand my knowledge.
