|Reasons for running||I want to proclaim liberty and educate the people of our district so that, as soon as a sufficient number of them demonstrate the patriotism, intelligence and courage to vote for me or another Libertarian, one of us can go to Washington and help restore the Constitution and the principles of liberty, peace and prosperity so that America can become a beacon and example of liberty to the world again.
|Priorities||1. End the police state by repealing Sections 1031 to 1033 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2013 which “authorizes” Obama to arrest and hold Americans without charges or trial forever, the John Warner Defense Act to restore the Posse Comitatus Act and all other police state measures for the past decades and abolish the Department of Homeland Security, the Transportation Security Agency, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Food and Drug Administration and all other departments and bureaus which violate the Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights.
2. Stop World War III by selling all foreign bases, bringing all of our troops home, ending all entangling alliances, including with the Zionist state of Israel, stopping all foreign aid, getting the United States out of the United Nations and the United Nation out of the United States and its subsidiaries including NATO, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, repealing NAFTA, GATT and all of the other phony “free trade” treaties. We need to return to the principles of the Founding Fathers, especially Washington and Jefferson, who recommended peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.
3. Start getting out of the depression by passing the 0-0-0 tax, also known as the Liberty Amendment which would require the federal government to sell the one million square miles of land and all other businesses which it owns without Constitutional authorization. See www.libertyamendment.org Pending repeal, there should be a moratorium on the income and payroll taxes, the gasoline tax and meaningful reduction of corporate taxes at least down to the level of the rest of the world, instead of having the highest rate as we do now. All taxes, regulations and edicts which prevent or hinder the discovery, production and sale of all forms of energy, as well as all subsidies, should be repealed. The federal minimum wage laws and the EPA, OSHA and all other bureaucracies which prevent job creation should be ended. Finally, most importantly, the Federal Reserve System should be audited to find out where “our” gold is, to determine who the traitors and counterfeiters are so that their stolen wealth can be recovered and to educate the American people as to why the Fed should be abolished and be replaced by one hundred percent backed gold and/or silver currency. Legal tender laws and taxes on precious metals should be repealed.
|Qualifications||I have studied honest history and the Constitution for over fifty years and understand it and free market principles, as well as our enemies. I will never compromise on principles or truth. The halfway point between good and evil is evil. We need people in office, especially in Congress, who understand the Constitution and the proper limitations on government, especially the federal government. I have been the Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Cuyahoga County since 2010 and was Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Northeast Ohio most of the time from 2003 to 2008, Region Representative from 1988 to 2003, State Secretary from 1989 to 1992 as well as Treasurer of the American Party of Cuyahoga County (1974 to 1977) and of Ohio (1977 to 1980).
|Positions on the issues|| I oppose Obamacare and all other forms of socialized medicine, including Romneycare and Hillarycare, which are unconstitutional and would turn the American people into human cattle and slaves of a totalitarian state, subject to death panels, enormous tax increases and a nanny state such as Bloomberg is trying to set up in New York City. 218 members of the House of Representatives can use their constitutional authority to defund Obamacare until majorities of both Houses can kill it, as well as support those states whose legislatures have the courage to end it by nullification.
I do not favor a declaration of war against Libya although the attack was an act of war. One legitimate purpose for our soldiers and marines is to guard foreign embassies. This would be a good time to end foreign aid to Libya and Egypt and consider withdrawing our embassy staff. Congress should only declare war to protect our homes or the Bill of Rights. Otherwise, war is a racket, as the great patriot, Smedley Butler, wrote.
All federal gun control laws, beginning with Roosevelt's tax on automatic firearms and all federal taxes on weapons and ammunition should be repealed.
We should end Medicaid and phase out Social Security and Medicare, allowing everyone to opt out and take what they put into it. (Personal disclaimer: I steal back Social Security but I would still vote to phase it out.)
I favor Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson's (www.garyjohnson2012.com) proposal to balance the budget next year, not in three, ten or twenty years, by cutting all departments and agencies by 43% across the board.
I also propose to abolish all federal departments except Treasury, State, Justice and Defense, with inclusion of the Department of Veterans Affairs into it.
The War on Drugs should end. All federal drug laws should be repealed and all of those imprisoned for violations of those “crimes” should be released.
We need to end the invasion of our Southwest by building a wall or a fence, putting soldiers or marines on the border and implementing Operation Wetback II as President Dwight Eisenhower started the successful Operation Wetback in 1954. Until then, there should be a moratorium on all immigration. Afterward, it should be limited to 1/10th of one percent of the current population per year and the other limitations which were in effect before 1965 should be reimplemented.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964, which seriously compromised the principle of private property, should be repealed.
As a general rule, I favor reduction of the federal government to its constitutionally authorized functions of defending us against foreign enemies, regulating commerce to let it flow without government interference and meddling and maintaining a few necessary courts.
