| Reasons for running | Columbiana County deserves dedicated and experienced leadership in the Columbiana County recorder's office. The office has never been busier, and we need strong leadership more than ever. I believe in Columbiana County and have a record of accomplishment that qualifies me to continue serving as Columbiana County recorder. |
| Priorities | My priorities if reelected is to keep embracing technological innovation while continuing to practice a policy and attitude of fiscal responsibility. We need to make sure that we can provide the services necessary to facilitate investment in our region while serving and protecting the interests of local residents. The recorder's office of today operates on less money than in 2003. |
| Qualifications | My primary qualification is my record of success. As county recorder, I have helped protect families from identity theft by covering up tens of thousands of social security numbers. I have also deterred property fraud by implementing a property notification system. The office has been modernized by updating office software and purchasing new equipment. I am also proud that the office has received over $250,000 worth of free services and equipment from companies investing in our region. These acquisitions have allowed the recorder's office to move forward technologically and operate smoother. |
| Positions on the issues | The biggest challenges facing recorders in this part of Ohio is the natural gas exploration and drilling boom. Personally, I have taken a cooperative approach addressing challenges by working with companies to find solutions that both make their jobs easier and assure lasting benefits to the residents of Columbiana County. It is also important to note that although assisting economic development is important, we must also remember to protect and represent the interests of our residents.
The office must continue to run in a fiscally responsible manner. The voters of Columbiana County demand conservative spending. I will continue this trend. I have saved voters tens of thousands of dollars and will continue to find innovative ways to fund progress while showing fiscal restraint. Since, I was first elected as Columbiana County recorder people are safer. Social security numbers are no longer as widely available, and residents have a deterrent against property fraud through our notification program. |
