| Reasons for running | Right now we must focus on putting American’s back to work. Our economy continues to struggle as we see our jobs being shipped overseas to a workforce that is less skilled and willing to work for lesser wages. This type of commerce will only benefit those top executives who are focused on the bottom line at the cost the values that this country was built on. I am a small business owner and have seen first hand the affects of this recession. It's time we put aside the partisan rhetoric in Washington and focus on the policies that will help us bring jobs to the Mahoning Valley. When I was in congress I voted for what was right for my district and have helped bring numerous economic development projects and improvements to our communities. It is time we focus on what is important, bring livable wage jobs to the skilled workforce we have in our communities. |
| Priorities | I am running for office because I truly believe our communities need an experienced leader in Washington who is working on their behalf. As a fourth generation resident of the Ohio River Valley you do not have to ask me where I consider home. As an experienced leader for this community who has worked on both the state and federal levels I pride myself on what we have been able to accomplish together. Once elected I will work to continue develop jobs, protect our children’s education, and to provide for our seniors, as I have for the past 15 years. As a small business owner I understand the struggles many are facing and will be able to bring that knowledge and experience to Washington. |
| Qualifications | I has been a honor working elected official for the constituents of Ohio for the past 15 years. In my capacity in the Ohio House of Representatives, Ohio State Senate, and US House of Representatives, I have had the opportunity to work with community leaders to develop economic tactics that have helped our communities grow. My background and understanding of local, state and federal policies have allowed me to provide effective leadership for the 6th Congressional District. Once elected I will continue to use this experience to build on my commitment to rebuild our economy and put the families of the 6th Congressional District back to work. |
| Positions on the issues | If elected I will continue my efforts of working with economic development resources at the local, state and federal levels to bring the skilled labor jobs back to the Mahoning Valley. As someone who has lived their entire life in this community, I know our current problem is not the lack of a desire to work, but the limited availability to livable wage jobs. As a member of congress you have the ability to work with federal entities to ensure your district receives the funding necessary to keep these jobs in our communities. During my tenure I prided myself on my ability to procure funding for education and economic development. Once elected I will work to reengage this funding. |
