Reasons for runningMy family has a long history of commitment to public service and have developed a reputation in the community for honesty, integrity and fair dealing. I share my family's passion for public service and wish to carry on this tradition of public service. I have observed the good that my father has done for the community and have always aspired to emulate him. Since I was in law school, it has always been a goal of mine to become a judge and carry on the legacy of my father.
Priorities I will work tirelessly and efficiently to insure that the Court's docket is current and up to date. In deciding matters that come before the Court, I will adhere to my core values and maintain integrity, independence and impartiality. I will maintain the highest standards of ethics and would treat all persons equally and fairly regardless of race, class or status. I will not let personal opinions interfere with decision making. I will maintain a sense of humility and will not let the position change my character or sense of self, and will serve in the respectful manner that the Court deserves.
QualificationsMy extensive and varied experience in the practice of law would bring a very diverse perspective to the bench. During my almost twenty-three years as a lawyer, I have had the opportunity to practice in many different fields of law. I have the perspective of practicing in both the public and private sectors. My legal experience includes extensive trial experience, including many criminal and civil jury trials, representation of private clients as well as county and city officials, prosecution and defense of serious criminal offenses and the representation of plaintiffs and defendants in complicated civil litigation. As in-house counsel I was involved in national business operations with a company that far exceeded annual gross income of one hundred million dollars. My corporate legal duties included assuming the functions of Human Resources Director and managing approximately four hundred employees year round and twenty five hundred seasonally. My business experience will aid in successfully managing staff and court personnel as well as preparation and management of the Court's fiscal matters and budget. I have managed complex litigation with some of the top law firms in the country. My career has been multi-faceted and I have experience in and have practiced in almost all areas of law. I've practiced extensively in the Municipal, County and Common please Courts, as well as the Court of Appeals and have managed litigation all the way to the Supreme Court of Ohio. All courts as well as administrative proceedings that I have practiced in all eventually make their way to the Court of Appeals.
Positions on the issues The Code of Judicial Conduct prohibits judicial candidates from stating an opinion or position on an issue. I would defer until the interview process and make a judgment at that time as to the propriety of a response.
