Job creation and job retention/education reform. Many issues confront the state of Ohio as we look toward the next General Assembly. Two of the key issues confronting our state are listed above. It is my belief that under the guidance and leadership of Lt. Governor Lee Fisher, director of the Department of Development, and in cooperation with the Legislature, continued growth can and will continue. No doubt times are tough but progress has been made during the first two years of the Strickland administration and I am confident that it will continue with legislative cooperation. Education reform is at the top of Governor's Strickland's agenda for 2009 and I look forward to partnering with him in that venture. For too long the Legislature and the two previous administrations neglected to deal with the education funding /reform issue. I am confident that Governor Strickland has the will to address the issue and legislative cooperation will be imperative. Cooperation from both sides of the aisle will be needed and obstructionist and naysayers can only harm the process.
As always, my top priority is constituent service. I will continue to strive to be accessible and responsive to all constituent requests.
