Bryan's reasons for seeking office:

Most city officials do not have to "earn" the money that they spend, and therefore do not feel the PAIN when they spend it! Because I have had to be responsible for business growth and financial accountability at our family business, this real world experience has taught me that every single cent comes with hard work and cannot be frivolously spent! Accordingly, I realize that a conservative approach to finances and a firm grasp of fiscal responsibility is imperative to long-term stability. The entire goal for my first term in office will be to look for every place that our tax dollars could be invested more wisely and to help make those tough decisions that will lower the cost of running our city government.

Bryan's qualifications:

I attended Bowling Green State University and majored in business administration. I have been the general manager of a small family business for the past 15 years, and manage roughly the same amount of employees that the city of Columbiana employs (30+) and oversee the responsibility of managing nearly the same budget as well. I also serve on the finance board of the executive committee for the Columbiana County Republican Party. Not related to the position of City Council, I was an alternate delegate for John McCain representing the 6th Congressional District.

Where Bryan stands on the issues:

I believe that the major issue that faces City Council in Columbiana is City Council itself! I do not say that to offend the people that I hope to be serving with, but to challenge the entire group to financially protect the tax payer better. It seems too often, that without enough research or negotiation, things are passed with a rubber stamp. In my position, I negotiate with people daily. I see the power and benefit of it with every business I work with. When I work with government offices I rarely see the same. Again, if someone hands you a $100 bill it’s a lot more fun to spend than $100 that you had to earn. A lot of people I have spoken to believe that current council is comprised of a group of “Columbiana Boys” whose interest in council is to protect their own. I will cooperate with them, as I will only be 1/6th voice, but my voice will be representative of you. I have not taken a single dollar of financial contribution to run my campaign, neither business nor personal. I will be beholden to no one but you!

Bryan's priorities if elected:

If I am entrusted with a position on City Council my first order of business will be to review costs of items being financed by the city, and inform Columbiana taxpayers of the money that I feel may not be being invested wisely. I will bring it to the attention of the rest of our City Council, so that the citizens hard earned tax dollars can be stretched further and provide more.
