Above, is an example of the shoulder patch known as the Jamboree Shoulder Patch, which has a unique number assigned to each Jamboree Troop. The Greater Western Reserve Council Jamboree Troop chose the Packard-themed patch along with a special Packard-themed back patch set which was created with the permission of the National Packard Museum in Warren and features models of Packard Automobiles manufactured during the years of the Packard from 1890 to 1958.

Mercer Rotary Club recently had a tree-dedication ceremony. The club partnered with the Mercer County Conservation District and Munnell Run Farm and planted two apple trees behind the Bigler House on Munnell Run. More trees are to be planted this year with a goal of 31 trees to be planted by the Rotary by July 1, 2018. Pictured above are members of the Munnell Run Farm team, Mercer County Conservation District members and Mercer Rotarians.

Canfield (I.O.O.F.) Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 155 presented a scholarship check to Benjamin Targove, a graduate of Canfield High School. Targove will attend the University of Akron this fall, where he will major in nursing. Cameron Jaros, a 12-year-old student at Austintown Middle School, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive type of leukemia. To help raise funds to help with Cameron’s medical treatment in Cleveland, Barre Youngstown, a fitness studio in Boardman, held a fundraiser July 1. Students were able to attend free classes, buy tickets for an auction and buy shirts that said #CAMSTRONG. The event raised more than $1,700. The studio owner is Laura Zavadil, and the instructor is Kim Miller.
