The new Hubbard Elementary School, which will open this fall, took 18 months to build. It will replace Roosevelt Elementary School, which will be torn down. The $14.6 million school is the first part of a three-stage, $56 million project that will also include a new middle school and high school.
Classrooms in the new school are on the second floor along with the music and art rooms. Each classroom is about 1,200 square feet. The cafeteria, gym and administration offices are on the ground floor.
The new Hubbard Elementary School will hold pre-kindergarten through fourth grades. Beginning this fall, the elementary, middle and high schools will be located on one campus.
Families tour the new Hubbard Elementary School on Hall Avenue during an open house. Saturday afternoon’s open house and ribbon-cutting drew a large crowd.
Families explore the courtyard in the center of the new school. The courtyard will be an outdoor classroom.
