Polish Christmas Traditions

Photo detail

The Vindicator/Geoffrey Hauschild Donna Zubil helps her daughter, Codi Zubil, 17, both of East Palestine, emerse themselves in their Polish heritage by rolling out dough for the making of pirohy or pierogies while overseen by workshop leader, Larry Kozlowski, of Erie, during The Artistry of Wigilia (Christmas Eve) benefitting the Krakowiaki Polish Folk Circle at St. Joseph the Provider Church in Campbell on Saturday afternoon. "These traditions act as a catalyst to bring your family together," says Kozlowski, "its about teaching traditions that have been lost or never known in addition to remembering memories and making new ones."
