Campaign lyrics: Sixth-graders Rachel Smith, far right, and Cheree Lewis read a poem they wrote for Barbara Bush during her visit to West Elementary School. Holding the microphone was the girls' teacher, Jack Mills. Fighting literacy is a top priority for Mrs. Bush, wife of Vice President George Bush. She was in the area Thursday as part of her husband's presidential campaign. Second Lady of the United States, Barbara Bush, breezed through Youngstown on Thursday, April 21, 1988, stopping briefly to visit a sixth-grade class at West Elementary and officials of the Mahoning Valley Literacy Commission.
