Allyson Rust-1: Sharing their first kiss as husband and wife are Allyson and Luke Rust. The outside wedding took place in front a house built in the 1800s in Mercer, Pa., and the reception followed in the barn in the back yard. The couple made and set up all the decorations, which made the day more meaningful to them.

Sue Drotleff of Salem submitted this photo from her daughter's wedding. Melanie Drotleff and Michael Hughes were married July 16, 2011, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem. Immediately after the ceremony, the couple released monarch butterflies signifying their new life together. Most of the butterflies took off immediately, but two had to be "coaxed out" of the container by Melanie and Mike. The two butterflies perched on their fingers and stayed long enough for pictures followed by a shared kiss by the newlyweds; then the butterflies flew away. It was beautiful!

Aundrea Cika and Mark Heschmeyer were married Aug. 19, 1989. Almost every plan the bride had for her wedding was changed by her mother, including wanting an intimate wedding that ended up with 850 guests. The wedding has become legendary to the family. Aundrea moved back to the Valley eight years ago when her Mom was failing. "I wanted to try to repay her for this and so many other things. And still a year doesn't pass here without someone approaching me and saying, "I was at your wedding... wow!" Thanks, Mom.

Kara Krispinsky and Zac Middletown were married on Oct. 12, 2013, in Columbus. SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Trumbull County Travel Club members recently returned from their first overnighter in Louisville, Ky. On board were new members from the Sharon and Youngstown areas. The club is open to the public and has no membership dues. It meets twice a year to plan one-day outings, overnighters and longer vacations.
