Krystal Culler from Canine Companions for Independence spoke at a recent Canfield Rotary Club luncheon. She was accompanied by Patience V, a mix of golden retriever and Labrador retriever, who is a dog in training. Canine Companions is a nonprofit organization that provides highly trained dogs to help people with disabilities. The organization also runs the Wounded Veterans Initiative. Any veteran with physical disabilities resulting from military service may be eligible for an assistance dog free of charge.
