SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, Youngstown District, recently presented scholarships to students in the diocese from parochial grade school through college. Twenty-five recipients received $30,000 in scholarships. Some of the recipients, seated from left, are Vincent Pezzuto, St. Rose School in Girard; Mya Agee, Holy Family in Poland; Bernadette Demechko, FCSLA Youngstown District president; Justin Viau, St. Pius X School in Baltimore, Ohio; Brooke Chandler, Holy Family; and Deanna Demechko, Hoban High School in Akron. Standing are Jessica Yuricek, Youngstown State University; Mara Bahmer, Hoban; Jacob Sebest, Ursuline High School; Jacob Zaluski, YSU; Derek Bodo, YSU; Robert Campati, University of Toledo; and Sean Petiya, Kent State University graduate school.
