The Giffords, from left to right, Lauren, Mike, Natalie and Alison, visit the Barnhisel House in Girard. The Girard Historical Society operates the house and will host a Christmas Open House with refreshments, music and an estate decorated with many trees. This year’s theme, A Beary, Dolly Christmas, features a variety of bears and dolls. Open houses begin Saturday and Sunday and run every weekend from 1 to 5 p.m. until Dec. 15. THE VINDICATOR | WILLIAM D. LEWIS: Covenant Lodge 59 Prince Hall F&AM and Covenant Chapter 48 Order of the Eastern Star distributed 10 food baskets to those less fortunate. The baskets were filled with canned goods, mixes, dinner rolls and turkeys to complete a Thanksgiving dinner. Those involved in the food giveaway at Eastern Star Covenant Lodge, from left, were Semmie Gilmore, Malik Mostella, John R. Clark, Jose W. Reyes, Marshall V. Coney, Jose L. Reyes, Ronald Armour, Barbara Benford-Jackson, Alba Reyes, Dorothy Henry, Betty Crafter-Royal, Deloris Murphy and Sylvia Gilmore. Save A Lot and an anonymous donor also helped with filling the baskets. W. Reyes, Marshall v. Coney, Jose L. This joint encounter with Santa occurred 26 years ago for the Walcott siblings. Tricia (Walcott) Lenhart was 9 years old. She lives in Boardman with her husband, Scott, and children, Eric, 7, and Samantha, 5. Michael was 6 years old. He lives in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and is engaged to be married in the spring to Jennifer Usas. Jessica (Walcott) Krauser was 5 years old. She lives in Columbus with her husband, Derek, and four-year-old twins, Ben and Kate. The picture was submitted by their parents, Bill and Debbie Walcott.

Pat Shively of New Middletown shared one of her favorite pictures of her granddaughter, Elizabeth Thompson of New Middletown, who is now 16 and a junior at Springfield High School. Pat had taken her to the Mineral Ridge High School Frostie Frolics show in December 1998. As you can see, Elizabeth was less than thrilled to meet the big guy!

Sarah Hoefert sent her favorite photo of her daughter Jaime with Santa. She took the photo in 2010 at the Youngstown Playhouse, where they had gone to have lunch with Cinderella. Jaime, who was 3 at the time, was so thrilled when Santa made a surprise visit that she climbed right up on his lap and whispered, "I've reeeally been gooood this year, Santa."

Gianna Dutton was upset because Santa was giving little gifts to the children. Gianna's sister Alayna sat on Santa's lap first, so she thought there were no more gifts for her. Her parents are Jeff and Becky Dutton and grandparents are Ellie Dutton and Lou and Nancy Schepka. All live in Poland.
