For National Bike Month, which is May, Outspokin’ Wheelmen, a Youngstown-area bicycle club, has given 24 tricycles to Beatitude House, Someplace Safe, Christina House and Potter’s Wheel women’s shelters and program centers. From left are Debbie Chaffin and Beth Schmitt, of Christina House, and John Nagy, vice president and program chairman of Outspokin’ Wheelmen. The trikes were bought with the help of Frankford Cycles in Girard and Thumm’s Bike Shop in Warren.

Sojourn to the Past, known for taking Youngstown high school students on a 10-day journey to civil rights sites in the South, recently received a check for $2,600 from Home Savings Charitable Foundation.
