SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Judging from the determined looks on the faces of these three young participants, the Youngstown Lions Club’s 52nd annual Turtle Derby was a success in more ways than one. Almost $32,000 was raised, which more than met the Lions’ goal of $30,000. Funds will be used for eye exams, glasses and research. Organizations that will benefit from the fundraiser include Hospice of the Valley, Easter Seals, Akron Children’s Hospital, Sojourner House, Second Harvest Food Bank, First Night Youngstown, Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries, Youngstown city children, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Make-a-Wish Foundation, The Rich Center, YMCA, Pilot Dogs and Diabetes Foundation. To donate or for information, call Nancy Cuffle, president, at 330-503-0777.
